In Need of a New Dentist

wisdom teeth removal vancouverYou know what is really, honestly quite horrible? Impacted wisdom teeth are pretty terrible, honestly one of the most unpleasant experiences I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. I did not get my wisdom teeth extracted when I was in my teens, my dentist at the time said that he thought that I would not need it. I mean, I am known for having a big mouth but I never thought it would be like that! In any case, he was not as correct as he would like to think. The issue did not become apparent until much later, which I will get to.

I have never been a fan of the dentist, as one can imagine for someone with anxiety issues sitting down and having someone poke around my mouth is not a pleasant experience. Not only that but for me at least I have had to have quite a lot of work done over the years. I guess you could say my teeth are a bit on the “weak” side. I know my mother and father have had to deal with it themselves, and it seems as if no matter how well I care for my teeth something seems to go wrong.

One might even say that I have chronic issues with my teeth, which is frustrating for someone like me who is so health conscious. I do my best to eat correctly and I brush my teeth three times every day and floss twice, but it seems that despite all of that I am still dealing with a case of infected wisdom teeth. It became apparent some weeks ago with some pain, pain that was not too bad, not yet anyway. Then that pain increased and I realized I had a fever. One trip to the ER later and I am told I need these puppies out of my head at the next convenient time.

So here I am, on the Internet trying to find a dentist near where I am living temporarily for my job to perform Wisdom Teeth Removal. This will not be fun at all, though I suppose the point is not to be “fun”, haha. Still, though, I am not at all looking forward to the extraction itself, as I never do well at the dentist. When I was younger I once actually bit the dentist! In my defense he had terrible beside manners and would not give me another shot of numbing agent even though I was sitting there, crying. I guess it must be obvious why I have some issues – or trepidation – when it comes to dentists! Here is to hoping that I can find a dentist I can like as soon as possible.
